Team GPA’s
new CEREC trainers
Dr. Merry-Anne Eng and Dr. Ong Teng Sin are Team GPA’s newly
certified CEREC trainers. Together with managing director, Dr. Wilson
Goh, Team GPA now has three certified CEREC trainers.
Dr. Eng and Dr. Ong were in Dubai on October 27 and 28, for this year’s
8th ISCD Certified CEREC Trainer Course. Together with international
renowned speakers from many different countries as well as members
of the R&D Department of Sirona Dental Systems, the course has
helped Team GPA to be on the edge of tomorrow’s technology.
During the course, dentists were not only updated in the CEREC method,
but also in ways to train fellow dentists most effectively in the
proper use of the system, including updates in software, hardware
as well as in Adhesive Dentistry. The revised course program for this
year’s course was also unique due to major software updates
with greater emphasis on didactics and dentists’ personal inputs.
When asked how she has benefited from the course, Dr. Merry-Anne Eng
replies,
“Attendance at training workshops or conferences provides
us with ample opportunities to interact with our international colleagues
and peers, who will be able to offer different viewpoints and approaches
in both clinical and technical situations”.
Dr. Ong Teng Sin also believes that such courses are essential for
Team GPA’s progress towards becoming a regional training centre
in Asia. “There is a need for every dentist to be up
to date with the latest concepts. The search for more effective treatment
is a never-ending road,” added Dr. Ong.
Dr. Ong and Dr. Eng’s certification as CEREC trainers validates
Team GPA’s commitment towards providing the best quality dental
solutions for patients. The benefits of using ceramic in tooth restorations
have surpassed the use of amalgam (metal) fillings and Team GPA will
continue to be a strong advocate of giving patients safe and effective
dental restorations.
Dr. Eng says, “It is to our patients’ benefit that we,
as clinicians, undertake the responsibility to constantly update our
knowledge and skills”.
